you should be more careful the ferret will get his eyes ripped out by a cat!i work at a animal hospitable i see it all the time. so maybe you should keep them separate till the kitten is older and wont be so rough

I have in the animal business for over 20 years, and you are doing the RIGHT thing by acclimating the babies at this age, so they become close friends when they are older. In spite of the fact that right now the kitten was "the winner" at this point. Allow them to always be together so at night they sleep together & become a family. If you keep separating them, and cage the ferret, the cat will see the ferret as an intruder when he [the cat] gets older.
